Tips for successful payments at Zoom

  • AcceptedSign in as the account owner, an admin or a custom role with billing privileges. Only these roles can add or change the payment method on a Zoom account.
  • AcceptedSettle any open invoices first. Zoom lets you update or remove a card only when the account has no open invoices.
  • AcceptedAdd a backup payment method under Billing Information. Zoom charges it only when a recurring charge to the primary method fails, so the plan keeps running.
  • AcceptedEnter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Halocard.

Why do Zoom payments decline?

"Your purchase could not be processed due to an invalid address."
The billing address does not match the one the card issuer holds. Enter the billing address shown in your Halocard dashboard, with no formatting changes, then try again.
"We are unable to process this request due to an issue with the credit card, please contact your bank or try a different payment method."
Zoom's processor flagged the card without giving a reason. Check the card is active and not expired, remove it and add it again by typing the details, then retry in a private browser window.
"Payment is declined because the account has insufficient funds, please contact your bank or try a different payment method."
The card did not have room for the full amount. Zoom says to check the available balance including taxes and any pending holds, then retry.
"Something went wrong when trying to place your order."
A browser extension or blocker stopped Zoom's reCAPTCHA from loading. Turn off pop-up blockers and extensions, allow cookies, and try a private window or another browser.

Zoom payment FAQ

Can I pay for Zoom with PayPal?
Yes. In the Zoom web portal, choose PayPal as the payment method and authorize a billing agreement in PayPal. You must select a valid card inside PayPal, because Zoom does not accept a PayPal balance. A balance payment fails with PayPal error 10417.
Why did Zoom charge me more than the plan price?
Prices on Zoom's pricing page exclude taxes and fees. Depending on your Sold To address and exemption status, Zoom adds sales tax, VAT or GST, which shows in the cart before checkout. Other causes Zoom lists are add-ons with their own renewal dates, usage charges and a different license type than intended.
Why do I see a Zoom charge I don't recognize?
Zoom lists a few common causes: another paid Zoom account using the same card, a renewal that ran before a cancellation went through, a card issuer passing a replacement card to Zoom automatically, or tax added to the total. Sign in to each Zoom account and check the invoices under Billing. If the charge is still not yours, report it to Zoom's Trust and Safety team.
How do I cancel a Zoom subscription?
Cancel where you subscribed. A plan bought on the Zoom website is canceled from your Zoom account. A plan billed by Apple or Google Play must be canceled in your Apple account or the Google Play Store, because Zoom cannot cancel those. After canceling, the plan stays active until the end of the paid period, then the account moves to the free Basic plan.
Can I pay Zoom by bank transfer or check?
Online customers can choose ACH at checkout on a new purchase paid in USD. It takes about 4 days to process and cannot be used for upgrades. Check, wire transfer and other manual payments are only for direct customers billed $250 a month or more, arranged through Zoom Sales.
