How to pay for Intuit QuickBooks with Halocard

Create a card for Intuit QuickBooks in Halocard

In your Halocard dashboard, create a new card, name it Intuit QuickBooks and set a limit that covers what you are about to pay.

Open Settings, then Subscriptions and billing

Sign in to QuickBooks Online as the primary admin. Select Settings, then Subscriptions and billing, then the Billing & Subscription tab.

Add the card in the Intuit Payment Wallet

Select Edit next to your payment method, then Add New in the wallet listing. Choose Credit/Debit Card, enter the card details and billing address, then select Save and Use.

Optionally add a backup card

On the same tab, select Add backup payment method, then Add payment method. Intuit charges this card if a payment on the main card fails. It must be a card.

Tips for successful payments at Intuit QuickBooks

  • AcceptedA domestic billing address. Intuit does not accept billing addresses in territories, and the address does not have to match the business address in your QuickBooks settings.
  • AcceptedYou are signed in as the primary admin. Only the primary admin can change the QuickBooks payment method.
  • AcceptedIf you set a backup payment method, it must be a card. Intuit does not accept ACH, PayPal, Google Pay or Apple Pay as the backup.
  • AcceptedEnter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Halocard.

Why do Intuit QuickBooks payments decline?

"My subscription payment failed" email
Intuit could not charge the card on file. Update the card under Settings, then Subscriptions and billing. Intuit says reactivation can take up to 24 hours.
An error when saving the billing address
Remove symbols such as @ or * from the address and fill in every field, including the postal code. Intuit says to enter 00000 if your address has no postal code.
Subscription suspended and QuickBooks is view-only
The primary admin updates the payment details. Intuit says the suspension clears within 24 hours of the payment going through.
The payment still fails after you update it
Intuit suggests trying later in the day, using a different or digital card, or making the update in a private browser window to rule out the browser cache.

What is an Intuit charge on my credit card?
Intuit says these charges are usually subscription fees or service usage for products such as QuickBooks Online, Payroll or QuickBooks Time. Check Settings, then Subscriptions and billing, then View payment history. Or use the Find a Charge tool on Intuit's Understand Intuit charges article with the card number, amount and date. It shows charges from May 27, 2020 onward.
What payment methods does QuickBooks accept?
For a QuickBooks Online subscription, Intuit lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards, PayPal, direct debit and ACH. A domestic billing address is required, and one card covers each payment. See Manage billing, payment, and subscription info.
Can PayPal be my backup payment method in QuickBooks?
No. PayPal works as the main way to pay, but the backup payment method must be a card. Intuit says bank accounts (ACH), PayPal, Google Pay and Apple Pay cannot be used as backup. See Add and manage subscription payment method with Intuit Payment Wallet.
Can I pay for QuickBooks yearly instead of monthly?
Yes. Choose Annual Billing in the subscription summary and Intuit takes 10% off. Annual billing can only be chosen after you have subscribed monthly. See Manage billing, payment, and subscription info.
