Tips for successful payments at Hostinger

  • AcceptedSave the card under Billing, then Payment Methods, and click Make as default: the default method is the one Hostinger charges for auto-renewals.
  • AcceptedTurn on auto-renewal with the toggle on each subscription row, and keep funds on the card around the charge date, which falls 27 days before expiry for domains and 14 days for yearly plans.
  • AcceptedAllow pop-ups and turn off ad blockers before you pay, so the 3D Secure page can open and load in time.
  • AcceptedPay from an account in the currency you want: Hostinger cannot change the currency of an existing account, and Hostinger.com bills in USD.

Why do Hostinger payments decline?

"The transaction was declined, please contact your bank"
The card issuer refused the charge, for example because of wrong card details, an expired card or online payments being restricted. Check the details and that online payments are enabled, then retry or ask the issuer for the exact reason.
"3D Secure Verification Failed"
Retry once, since a timed-out check is the most common cause. If it fails again, pay in a private window with extensions off, or another browser, and enter the code as soon as the page loads.
Email velocity declined
Too many unsuccessful attempts in a short period led the bank to block transactions for a while. Wait 24 hours before trying again, or use another payment method.
"The payment was rejected due to security concerns. Please contact us."
Contact Hostinger's Customer Success team or try another payment method. If a payment was refunded as suspected fraud, confirm you want to pay and upload a card photo showing only the first 6 and last 4 digits.

Hostinger payment FAQ

Does Hostinger accept PayPal?
Yes. PayPal is listed for Hostinger.com and can be saved under Payment Methods, so it can pay auto-renewals as the default method. The PayPal account needs a linked card. Without one, Hostinger shows "PayPal payment method was not added, please try again".
Can I pay Hostinger with crypto?
Yes. Hostinger.com accepts crypto payments. Purchases made with cryptocurrency are left out of the 30-day money-back guarantee, so they cannot be refunded.
What is Hostinger's refund policy?
Web, cloud, Agency and KVM VPS hosting and Hostinger Email can be refunded within 30 days of purchase when not paid in crypto. New .com, .net and .org domains are refundable only within 96 hours. Domain renewals, completed transfers, VPS upgrades and most country-code domains are not refundable.
When does Hostinger auto-renew charge my card?
With auto-renewal on, Hostinger charges your saved default method before the service expires: 27 days ahead for domains, 14 days ahead for yearly plans and around the expiry date for monthly plans. If the renewal date is one day away or less, renew manually for that cycle.
What does a Hostinger charge look like on my statement?
It usually shows as HOSTINGER.COM, HOSTINGERSERVICES, HOSTINGER.COM/LT, HOSTINGER INTERNATIONAL or EBNHOSTINGER. Hostinger may also place a small pre-authorization before a purchase or renewal, reversed once the card is verified. Match any charge in Billing, then Payment History.
