Tips for successful payments at Canva

  • AcceptedOn a Canva team, you are the owner or an administrator. Only they can manage the team's payment methods.
  • AcceptedThe currency at checkout looks right. Canva picks it from your location, and the card must allow payments in it.
  • AcceptedEnter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Halocard.
  • AcceptedSet the card limit above the full amount, including any hold Canva places at checkout.

Why do Canva payments decline?

"We are unable to process payments with credit cards at the moment"
Canva links this message to the browser or network, not the card. Turn off ad blockers and extensions, try a private window or another browser, or leave a corporate network, then try again.
Card error: the payment was not authorized or was flagged as fraud
Check in your Halocard dashboard that the card is active and has room for the amount, then try again. Canva says the issuer can explain a decline if you give the date, time, currency and amount.
Wrong billing country or ZIP code
Enter the billing country and ZIP code shown in your Halocard dashboard, then try the payment again.
Renewal failed on the billing date
Premium features stay on while Canva retries for 16 days. Update the card under Settings, then Billing, before then, or the account moves to the Free plan.

Canva payment FAQ

Where do I change my payment method in Canva?
In a web browser, go to Settings, then Billing. Under Plan, select More, then Update payment method. If you subscribed in the iPhone or Android app, change it in your Apple or Google account instead. See Add or change your payment method.
Why did Canva charge me?
Canva plans renew automatically. You are billed when you upgrade and then every month or year, or when a free trial ends. You can switch between monthly and yearly under Billing in Settings. See Learn about billing frequency for Canva plans.
Can I pay for Canva with PayPal?
Yes. PayPal is on Canva's supported payment options list. Canva's PayPal help says it works in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, SGD, MXN and CAD.
Does Canva take Apple Pay?
Yes, on the website. Canva takes Apple Pay for one-time purchases on canva.com. Subscriptions and free trials work with Apple Pay only on iOS mobile web, not in the desktop browser. These are billed by Canva, not Apple. See Pay using Apple Pay.
