How to pay for Wolt with Halocard

Add the card to your Wolt profile
Open your profile in the Wolt app or on wolt.com and add a new payment method. Wolt makes a 1 euro check charge to confirm the card works and releases it straight away.

Choose the card under Payment at checkout
Select the card under Payment before you place the order. Wolt holds the order amount when you order and takes the payment when the order is delivered.

Optional: pay for Wolt+ with the same card
Tap Get Wolt+ in the Wolt app, choose the card as the primary payment method and confirm. Manage the card, the next payment date and cancellation in the Wolt+ tab of your profile.

Tips for successful payments at Wolt
- AcceptedLeave at least 1 euro free on the card when you add it. Wolt makes a 1 euro check charge to confirm the card works and releases it straight away.
- AcceptedFor Wolt+, pick the card as the primary payment method before you confirm the subscription. You can change it later in the Wolt+ tab of your profile.
- AcceptedWolt charges in the local currency, so a card in another currency can see a small exchange rate difference from the order total.
- AcceptedEnter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Halocard.
Why do Wolt payments decline?
- Order rejected but the money is still held
- Wolt placed a hold on the card, not a final charge, and tells the bank to release it immediately. How long the hold stays visible depends on your bank.
- The hold is larger than the order total
- Orders with items sold by weight carry an extra hold of up to 20% of those items' value. Wolt charges the real weight on delivery and returns the unused part of the hold.
- The Wolt+ fee could not be charged
- Wolt asks you to select a different payment method or add a new one, and may charge another saved method. If the payment keeps failing, Wolt can end the subscription, so update the card in the Wolt+ tab.

What should I do if Wolt declines or doesn't support my card?
Pay with a Halocard instead. Wolt accepts it, and as a US-issued Visa credit card held in US dollars it is accepted at checkouts that are strict about card type or country. Can I use a virtual card for Wolt?
Yes. Wolt accepts Halocard, a US-issued Visa credit card that works like a debit card. Make a card just for Wolt and you are in full control: set a limit, lock it or cancel it whenever you like, without ever handing Wolt your bank card.
Can I keep my real card and address private from Wolt?
Yes. Wolt only ever sees your Halocard, never your bank card. You choose the cardholder name and billing address on each card, so your home address stays out of Wolt's records. If Wolt is ever caught up in a data breach, cancel that one card and make a new one in seconds.
How do I stop Wolt charging me after I cancel?
The fastest way is to lock the Halocard you use for Wolt. It takes a couple of clicks in your Halocard dashboard, and Wolt can't charge that card again until you unlock it, so you stay in full control even when cancelling is slow or hard to find. To cancel with Wolt as well, sign in to your Wolt account and cancel the plan in its billing or subscription settings.
Does Wolt accept PayPal?
Yes, in markets such as Germany, where Wolt lists credit cards, debit cards, Klarna, PayPal, Google Pay and Apple Pay. Wolt's payment options vary by country, so the methods offered in your Wolt profile are the ones available where you order.
Can I pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay on Wolt?
Yes. Wolt lists Apple Pay on iOS and Google Pay on Android in Germany, and both in Finland. Add the wallet as a payment method in your Wolt profile and choose it at checkout.
Does Wolt take Klarna?
Yes, in countries where Wolt offers it. Wolt lists Klarna with cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay in Finland, and with cards, PayPal and the wallets in Germany.
How is Wolt+ billed?
Wolt+ renews automatically each month or year until you cancel, and the fee is charged at the start of each period to the primary payment method you chose. After a free trial, the first payment is taken the day after the trial ends. Benefits apply only in the country where you bought the subscription.
What are Wolt credits?
Wolt credits and tokens are earned through referrals and promotions and give a discount on orders in the Wolt app and on wolt.com. Wolt uses them automatically when an order qualifies, some are valid for delivery orders only, and they expire after the validity period shown in the app.
