How to pay for McDonald's with Halocard

Add the card under More, then Profile, then Payment Methods
In the McDonald's app, select More, then Profile, then Payment Methods. Follow the prompts, fill in the card fields and choose Save. You can also add a card from the Checkout screen.

Choose your restaurant and pickup method
Select a participating restaurant, then Curbside, Front Counter, Table Service or Drive Thru. Your order goes to that restaurant's kitchen.

Select the card and tap Pay & Place Order
At checkout, choose the card as your payment method and select Pay & Place Order. The restaurant charges the order total at that moment, and the order cannot be changed after payment.

Check in when you arrive
Enter your Curbside spot or table number in the app, head to the Front Counter, or give the code shown in the app at the Drive Thru.

Tips for successful payments at McDonald's
- AcceptedOn iPhone, Apple Pay shows as a payment option in the McDonald's app only when your card is saved in Apple Wallet.
- AcceptedOn Android, add your card to the Google Pay app first, then select Google Pay as the payment method in the McDonald's app.
- AcceptedCheck the restaurant before you pay. Your order and payment go to that restaurant, and the pickup restaurant cannot be changed once the order is placed.
- AcceptedPay the whole order with one method. McDonald's does not support splitting a payment between the Arch Card Balance and a card.
Why do McDonald's payments decline?
- Arch Card Balance payment declined
- McDonald's lists insufficient balance, reload payment issues or a temporary technical disruption. Refresh the app and confirm the balance, or pay the whole order with your card instead.
- An item in your reorder is unavailable
- The app labels products a restaurant cannot serve. Remove the unavailable products from the order before you check out again.
- "Order Here" is muted for your restaurant
- That location does not offer Mobile Order & Pay. Turn on location services and pick a restaurant where Order Here shows in black.

Does McDonald's accept Apple Pay?
Yes, in the McDonald's app. If your card is saved in Apple Wallet on an iPhone, Apple Pay shows automatically as a payment option for Mobile Order & Pay. McDonald's help pages describe paying in the app, not which wallets restaurant card readers take.
Does McDonald's take American Express?
Yes. McDonald's lets you register Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards in its app, and you can pay with a debit or credit card for Mobile Order & Pay.
Does McDonald's accept PayPal or Venmo?
Yes, for Mobile Order & Pay in the McDonald's app. McDonald's lists PayPal and Venmo alongside cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and the Arch Card Balance.
Where can I use a McDonald's Arch Card?
Physical Arch Cards work at more than 13,000 participating restaurants at the Drive Thru, Front Counter or Kiosk. To use one in the app, upload its funds to your Arch Card Balance, which pays for mobile pickup orders only. Arch Cards cannot be used for McDelivery, and the app balance cannot yet be used at restaurant counters. An app order paid from the balance cannot be split with a card.
When does McDonald's charge my card for a mobile order?
When you select Pay & Place Order. The restaurant you chose is the merchant and charges the order total then. You can cancel with the Cancel Order button until the restaurant starts preparing it. After that, ask that restaurant for a refund.
