What is Halocard?

A US-issued Visa credit card that works like a debit card, with a separate virtual card for each merchant you pay. Lock a card to pause a subscription, or cancel it so the merchant can no longer charge that number.

How to pay for X Premium with Halocard

Create a card for X Premium in Halocard

In your Halocard dashboard, create a new card, name it X Premium and set a limit that covers what you are about to pay.

Open Premium on x.com and pick a tier

Sign in at x.com in a web browser and select Premium in the side navigation. Choose Basic, Premium or Premium+, monthly or annual, then select Subscribe & Pay.

Confirm your phone number if asked

If your account has no confirmed phone number yet, X prompts you to verify one before payment. Follow the prompt to continue.

Enter the card and confirm the payment

Enter the card number, expiry date, security code and billing address in the web checkout, then confirm the subscription payment. X takes web payments through Stripe.

Check your subscription status

Select Premium on x.com again. A card at the top shows your current tier with Manage on the right, which is also where a web subscription is changed or cancelled.

Tips for successful payments at X Premium

AcceptedConfirm a phone number on your X account before you subscribe. X asks every subscriber to confirm one as part of sign-up.
AcceptedAnnual plans and gift subscriptions are charged in full at purchase, so allow for the whole year's price plus any tax.
AcceptedUpgrading to a higher tier on x.com charges the price difference straight away, with credit for the unused part of your current plan.
AcceptedEnter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Halocard.

Why do X Premium payments decline?

A renewal payment is declined: Add new payment details in your X Premium settings on x.com, or X cancels the subscription. Once the new card is charged, your renewal date stays the same as before.
You can't register your phone number: X refuses a number already linked to more than 10 accounts, to an account deleted in the last 30 days, or to a suspended account. Use another number, and unblock SMS from 40404 if you blocked it.

What is the X Corp Paid Features charge on my card?

It is a charge from X Corp. for paid X features, most often an X Premium subscription bought on x.com. Subscriptions bought in the X app for iPhone or Android are billed by Apple or Google Play instead. To see what you pay for, open Premium on x.com: a card at the top shows your current tier.

How much is X Premium?

On the web, Basic is $3 a month or $32 a year, Premium is $8 a month or $84 a year, and Premium+ is $40 a month or $395 a year, plus any tax, as listed in X's help center on 6 October 2026. Prices in the iPhone and Android apps are higher because of app store fees, so the web is cheapest.

How do I cancel X Premium?

Cancel from the platform where you subscribed: in your X Premium settings on x.com for a web subscription, or in the App Store or Google Play for an app subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Premium stays active until the paid period ends, with no refund for the remaining days.

Can I get a refund on X Premium?

X says subscriptions are non-refundable unless the law requires it, including for accounts that are suspended. Upgrading to a higher tier on x.com credits the unused value of your old plan to future payments. Refunds for subscriptions bought in the app are handled by Apple or Google.

Can I gift X Premium to someone?

Yes, on x.com only. A subscriber can open a non-subscriber's profile, tap the gift icon, choose annual Premium or Premium+ and select Gift & Pay, using the same checkout as a subscription. The full price is charged at purchase and is non-refundable, the gift does not renew, and you can buy up to 3 gifts a day.
