Create a card for Hulu in Halocard
In your Halocard dashboard, create a new card, name it Hulu and set a limit that covers what you are about to pay.

How to pay for Hulu with Halocard

Choose a plan at Signup.Hulu.com/Plans
Open Signup.Hulu.com/Plans in a web browser and pick Hulu, Hulu Premium, a Hulu + Live TV plan or a bundle. Enter your email address, a password and your personal details. You must be 18 or older.

Choose your payment option and click Submit
Choose the card option and enter the card number, expiry date, security code and billing ZIP code, then click Submit. Hulu may place a temporary authorization hold, usually $1, to check the card.

Change the card on an existing plan
Log in to your Account page in a browser and look for Payment Information. Select Update Payment next to Payment Method, add the card and click Save Changes.

Tips for successful payments at Hulu
- AcceptedAdd or change the card on your Hulu Account page in a computer or mobile browser: find Payment Information and select Update Payment next to Payment Method.
- AcceptedIf there is no option to update the payment method, a partner such as Apple, Google, Roku or Verizon bills you. Change the card with that partner, or end that plan and resubscribe on Hulu.com.
- AcceptedIf you start Hulu with a gift card, add a credit or debit card as well. The account cancels once the gift balance runs out, and Premium Network add-ons need a card.
- AcceptedEnter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Halocard.
Why do Hulu payments decline?
- "Invalid ZIP Code"
- The billing ZIP code you enter must match the one your card issuer has on file. Re-enter it exactly and submit again.
- "Invalid security code" or "Invalid expiration date"
- Re-enter the 3-digit security code from the back of the card and the expiry date exactly as printed. An expired card has to be replaced with a current one.
- Your Hulu subscription is on hold
- Hulu holds a plan when it cannot process the monthly payment, for example when the card is expired or lacks funds. Log in to your Account page, then retry the card or update the payment method.
- You cannot type in your card details
- Clear your browser cache, open a private window, turn off browser extensions or switch to another supported browser, then enter the card again.
Hulu payment FAQ
How do I update my payment method on Hulu?
Log in to your Hulu Account page on a computer or mobile browser and find the Payment Information section. Select Update Payment next to Payment Method, add the new card or PayPal and click Save Changes. If you are billed by a partner such as Amazon, Apple, Roku, Spotify, T-Mobile or Verizon, update the payment method with that partner instead. Your billing party is listed under Payment Information.
Does Hulu accept PayPal?
Yes. PayPal is the digital payment option Hulu lists alongside credit and debit cards and Hulu gift cards. When you switch to PayPal on the Account page, Hulu sends you to PayPal to approve it and then back to Hulu to confirm. PayPal charges show on statements with a PayPal prefix.
Can I pay for Hulu with a gift card?
Yes. Hulu gift cards are sold by retailers in stores and online. New subscribers redeem the 10, 12 or 16-digit code at hulu.com/gift, and current subscribers enter it under Gift or Promotional Code on the Account page. Add another payment method too, or the account cancels when the gift balance runs out. Partner-billed accounts other than Amazon and Roku cannot apply gift cards.
Can I pay for Hulu with Apple Pay or through the App Store?
Hulu's payment options list cards, PayPal and gift cards, not Apple Pay. New and returning subscribers can no longer sign up and pay for Hulu through Apple, Google or Amazon, so you subscribe on Hulu.com and still watch on Apple and Android devices. Existing Apple-billed or Google-billed plans continue and are managed in those stores' subscription settings.
Why is there a $1 pending charge from Hulu?
It is an authorization hold. Hulu places one when you sign up or add a new payment method, to check that the details are valid. Holds are typically $1 but can be other amounts. Hulu reverses them right away, though some banks take 3 to 5 business days to drop them from your statement.
