Tips for successful payments at Woolworths

Why do Woolworths payments decline?

Woolworths could not process your payment: Woolworths may tell you the payment was unsuccessful and cancel the order. Check the card is active with room for the full estimated total, then order again or call online support on 1800 000 610.
Woolworths could not confirm your payment details: Woolworths may phone or email to confirm your payment and details, and can cancel the order if it cannot reach you. Answer the contact, or call Customer Service on 1800 000 610.
Payment taken early after you moved your order date: Moving Delivery or Pick up to more than 7 days after the original order date makes Woolworths take payment at that moment. Keep the card active with room for the full total before you change the date.

Does Woolworths accept American Express?

Yes. Woolworths Online lists American Express with Visa, Mastercard and Diners Club, as well as Visa Debit and Mastercard Debit. In stores, Scan&Go Trolleys take contactless American Express, Visa and Mastercard cards.

Does Woolworths take Apple Pay?

Yes. At online checkout, tap Apple Pay, confirm your card and authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, with no need to type the card number. In stores, Scan&Go Trolleys take cards held in Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay, as long as the card is Visa, Mastercard, eftpos or American Express.

How does payment work for Woolworths online orders?

When you pay by card on the website, Woolworths places a pending charge for the estimated total and takes the final payment after your order is picked, usually on the day of Delivery or Pick up. The final amount can be lower but never higher. PayPal and other non-card methods are charged in full at checkout, with refunds for missing items afterwards.

Can I pay with a Woolworths gift card?

Yes. Online, Woolworths accepts Woolworths issued gift cards where Woolworths Online is a participating retailer under the gift card's terms. With a Scan&Go Trolley in store, pay with a gift card at the self-serve checkout, because the trolley device does not take gift cards.

What is Everyday Pay?

Everyday Pay is a digital wallet inside the Everyday Rewards app. It holds up to two bank cards plus gift cards, and you must add at least one eligible bank card. Cards are checked with 3DS through the card issuer. Woolworths does not say which cards are eligible, so if a card is refused there, pay by card at checkout instead.
