How to pay for Amazon with Halocard

01

Create a card for Amazon in Halocard

In your Halocard dashboard, create a new card, name it Amazon and set a limit that covers what you are about to pay.

02

Add the card under Your Account, then Your Payments

In Your Account, select Your Payments, choose Add a payment method and follow the on-screen instructions. You can also add the card at checkout with Add a credit or debit card.

03

Pick the card on the Select a Payment Method page

At checkout, choose the saved card on the Select a Payment Method page and place the order. A redeemed gift card balance applies first on eligible orders.

04

Switch the card on an open order

To pay an open order with a different card, go to Your Orders, select Change Payment Method next to the order, choose the card and select Confirm.

Tips for successful payments at Amazon

  • AcceptedSave the card in Your Payments before checkout, or choose Add a credit or debit card on the Select a Payment Method page.
  • AcceptedPay each order with one card. Amazon lets you split an order between one card and your gift card balance, but not across two cards.
  • AcceptedOn a multi-item order, the full amount is charged once everything ships or five days after the order date, whichever comes first, so keep the card open until then.
  • AcceptedEnter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Halocard.

Why do Amazon payments decline?

"Payment revision needed" on an order
Go to Your Orders and select Retry Payment Method, or Change Payment Method to pick another card. If the payment declines again, Amazon cancels the order and you need to place a new one.
Billing address or phone number does not match the bank
Edit the card in Your Payments so the billing address and phone number match what your card issuer has on file, then retry the payment from Your Orders.
The card authorization did not go through
Amazon says an authorization can fail once or twice before the bank approves it, and it emails you when it cannot authorize a card. Check the funds available, then retry from Your Orders.
The Prime renewal could not be charged
If every eligible payment method on file is declined for the Prime fee, add a new one promptly or the membership is canceled. Once charged, the new period keeps the original renewal date.

Amazon payment FAQ

Can you use PayPal on Amazon?
No. Amazon's Accepted Payment Methods page lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards, prepaid cards on those networks, Amazon's own cards, a checking account, Amazon gift cards, and FSA, HSA, EBT and OTC benefits cards. PayPal is not on that list.
Does Amazon take Apple Pay or Google Pay?
Neither is on Amazon's accepted payment methods list, so add the card itself in Your Payments. In the Amazon app on a compatible phone, Tap to Pay lets you tap a contactless card to the phone to pay for an order.
Can I use Amazon Pay to pay on Amazon.com?
Amazon Pay is for other websites. It lets you use the payment methods saved in your Amazon account to pay third-party merchants. On Amazon.com you pay with the card or balance in your account directly. Amazon gift card balance cannot be used for Amazon Pay purchases on other sites.
Does Amazon accept Affirm?
Yes. Pay Over Time with Affirm shows at checkout as an equal monthly payment option on eligible orders over $50. It does not cover digital purchases, gift cards, Prime, Subscribe and Save, groceries or items bought on other websites.
What is an AMZN Mktp charge on my card statement?
AMZN Mktp followed by a code is a charge for an Amazon.com purchase. Prime fees show as AMAZON PRIME or AMZ*Prime Shipping Club, and Kindle books, apps and videos show as Amazon Digital Svcs. Orders that ship in parts are charged per shipment, so match amounts and dates in Your Transactions.
