Tips for successful payments at ALDI

AcceptedCreate an ALDI account to order delivery or curbside pickup on aldi.us or the ALDI app. Guest checkout is not available, even if you already have an Instacart account.
AcceptedChoose the card you want before you place an online order. ALDI says the payment method cannot be changed once the order is placed.
AcceptedOnline orders must be at least $10, and delivery or pickup, service and bag fees are added on top of the groceries.
AcceptedLeave room on the card until the order is delivered. The hold can be higher than the order total, and adding items after checkout can add another hold.

Why do ALDI payments decline?

Your wallet or gift card is not offered at online checkout: ALDI online orders do not take Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App, Klarna, store gift cards, Instacart gift cards or international payments. Enter the card number at checkout instead.
A new hold on an order placed days ahead: If you schedule an order several days before delivery, the first hold can expire and Instacart places a new one. Keep the card active with room on its limit until the order is delivered.

Does ALDI take Apple Pay?

Yes, in stores. ALDI accepts contactless payment such as Apple Pay and Google Pay at the register. Delivery and pickup orders on aldi.us and the ALDI app do not take Apple Pay or Google Pay, so pay online with a credit or debit card, PayPal or Venmo.

Does ALDI take EBT?

Yes. ALDI stores accept EBT, SNAP and Link cards, and SNAP EBT also works for delivery and pickup orders on aldi.us. On those orders Instacart holds 10% extra on weighted EBT-eligible items such as produce, but never more than your approved EBT funds.

Does ALDI take WIC?

No. ALDI does not accept WIC benefits. ALDI says WIC rules cover only name-brand infant formula, and it sells only its own Little Journey brand.

Does ALDI take credit cards?

Yes. ALDI stores take Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, plus most debit cards. Delivery and pickup orders take all major credit and debit cards.

Does ALDI do cash back?

Yes, in stores. ALDI offers cash back of $10, $20, $40 or $100 at checkout with qualifying cards.
