Halocard is accepted at Twitch. Twitch accepts major credit cards, certain debit cards, PayPal, Amazon Pay, Apple Pay and Twitch gift card balance for subs, Bits and Turbo on twitch.tv. Tips for successful payments at Twitch

  • AcceptedAdd the card during checkout on your first Twitch purchase. The Wallet page can only manage a payment method that has already been used for a purchase.
  • AcceptedBuy Tier 2 and Tier 3 subs on twitch.tv or at subs.twitch.tv in a phone browser. The Twitch apps sell Tier 1 subs only.
  • AcceptedUpdating the card in your Wallet moves every subscription that renews on the old card to the new one, so one update covers all your subs.
  • AcceptedEnter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Halocard.

Why do Twitch payments decline?

Several purchases in a short time
Twitch says some banks and payment providers limit how often you can buy online. Wait and try the purchase again later, and contact your card issuer if it keeps failing.
Payment details or country do not match
Check your personal details are entered correctly and are current, that the payment method matches your country of residence, and turn off any VPN before trying again.
A saved card keeps failing
Delete the card at twitch.tv/payments and add it again at checkout, then retry in a private browser window. Deleting a card cancels renewals of the subs on it, so update those subs afterwards.
A Bits purchase shows a payment error
Click Try Again with the same or a different payment method, try a private window, or delete and re-add the payment method. Check with your bank that nothing blocks Twitch, or wait 24 hours and try again.

Twitch payment FAQ

What should I do if Twitch declines or doesn't support my card?
Pay with a Halocard instead. Twitch accepts it, and as a US-issued Visa credit card held in US dollars it is accepted at checkouts that are strict about card type or country. Halocard is available for customers in the US and 120+ countries, so check that your country is supported, then make a card for Twitch in minutes. See the countries Halocard supports.
Can I use a virtual card for Twitch?
Yes. Twitch accepts Halocard, a US-issued Visa credit card that works like a debit card. Make a card just for Twitch and you are in full control: set a limit, lock it or cancel it whenever you like, without ever handing Twitch your bank card.
How do I stop Twitch charging me after I cancel?
The fastest way is to lock the Halocard you use for Twitch. It takes a couple of clicks in your Halocard dashboard, and Twitch can't charge that card again until you unlock it, so you stay in full control even when cancelling is slow or hard to find. To cancel with Twitch as well, sign in to your Twitch account and cancel the plan in its billing or subscription settings.
Can I keep my real card and address private from Twitch?
Yes. Twitch only ever sees your Halocard, never your bank card. You choose the cardholder name and billing address on each card, so your home address stays out of Twitch's records. If Twitch is ever caught up in a data breach, cancel that one card and make a new one in seconds.
How much is a Twitch sub?
Twitch sets sub prices itself and adjusts them to the cost of living where you live, so prices vary by country. Its local pricing article uses $5.99 in USD as an example Tier 1 price, and Tier 2 and Tier 3 cost more. Multi-month Tier 1 subs save 10% on 3 months and 15% on 6 months, and subs bought in the Twitch apps cost more than on the web.
Can I pay for Twitch subs and Bits in the mobile app?
Yes. In the Twitch app, Google Play processes the payment on Android and the Apple App Store on iPhone, so the card on your Google Play or Apple Account pays. Add your Halocard to Google Pay or Apple Pay to use it there. The apps sell Tier 1 subs only and charge more, so a phone browser at subs.twitch.tv or bits.twitch.tv gets web prices and every tier.
Does Twitch accept PayPal?
Yes. PayPal is a checkout option on twitch.tv alongside cards, Amazon Pay and Apple Pay, and Twitch's terms of sale name it as a payment method. If a PayPal payment fails, Twitch suggests deleting your billing agreement with Twitch in your PayPal account and trying the purchase again. For support, keep the invoice ID from Twitch's email receipt, since Twitch looks up purchases by that ID.
How much does Twitch Turbo cost?
Turbo costs $11.99 a month on the web where Twitch has no local price, and Twitch sets local prices and currencies for many regions. New subscribers can try it free for 7 days with a valid payment method at sign-up. Turbo renews monthly until you cancel, and you can gift it to another user on twitch.tv.
How do I stop a Twitch sub from renewing?
On twitch.tv, open your Subscriptions page, click the cog next to the sub and choose Don't Renew Subscription. The sub stays active until the end of the paid period. Subs bought in the Twitch app are managed in the app: tap your profile picture, then Subscriptions, and pick the sub to cancel it.
