Why Halocard cannot be used at Polymarket

Why Halocard can't be used

Polymarket is charged under the gambling category, which Visa and our issuing bank classify as high-risk, so Halocard declines payments to it on every card. This is a Halocard rule, not a Polymarket rule.

How you can pay instead

  • A debit card from your own bank, up to $25,000 a transaction and $50,000 a day.
  • A bank transfer (ACH) from your own bank account, linked through Aeropay, up to $50,000 a day.
  • Apple Pay on iPhone, PayPal or Venmo, from an account in your own name.
  • A wire of $5,000 or more from your own bank account to QC Clearing LLC, with your full name and phone number in the memo.
  • USDC in the iPhone app, where available.

Polymarket payment FAQ

Does Polymarket accept credit cards?

Its app help pages name debit cards for card deposits, alongside bank transfer (ACH), Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, wire transfer and USDC. Its payments documentation lists card payments as debit or credit, processed by Checkout.com. Card deposits are limited to $25,000 a transaction and $50,000 a day.

How do I withdraw money from Polymarket?

In the app, tap Portfolio, then Withdraw, then Send to, and choose where the money goes: your debit card, bank account (ACH), Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo or a USDC wallet, each only if you deposited with it. Wires go through support. Withdrawals return to the original funding source, oldest deposit first, once a deposit has fully cleared, which usually takes 3 to 4 business days.

What fees does Polymarket charge?

Takers pay a trading fee of 0.0695 times the number of contracts times the price times one minus the price, so it is highest at 50 cents: $1.74 on 100 contracts. Fees are taken from your balance when a trade executes, and a canceled or expired order costs nothing. Withdrawals are free.

How long does a Polymarket deposit take?

Debit card and bank transfer (ACH) deposits take 3 to 4 business days to fully clear, though you can usually trade with instant buying power straight away. Wires are credited within about 1 business day once received and verified. Deposits can also wait on identity and anti-money-laundering checks.
