Why Halocard can't be used

Kalshi is charged under the gambling category, which Visa and our issuing bank classify as high-risk, so Halocard declines payments to it on every card. This is a Halocard rule, not a Kalshi rule.

  • Crypto, including USDC, or a wire or RTP payment from your own bank with your Kalshi memo code.

Kalshi payment FAQ

Does Kalshi accept credit cards?

Sometimes. Kalshi accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover debit cards and says credit cards may also be processed, but fees can vary and your card issuer may charge a cash advance fee. American Express is not supported.

What is the minimum deposit on Kalshi?

$10 for debit card, bank transfer (ACH), PayPal and Venmo deposits. Wires must be at least $1,000, and a smaller wire is returned to the sending bank, which can take 3 to 5 business days.

Does Kalshi charge a deposit fee?

It depends on the method. Bank transfers (ACH), wires and RTP payments carry no Kalshi fee. Debit card deposits may incur a 2% processing fee. Your first PayPal or Venmo deposit is free, then PayPal fees run up to 2% and Venmo fees may vary. Cash App deposits carry a fee, and crypto deposits can carry provider and network fees.

Why did my Kalshi deposit fail?

For a card, the usual causes are a mistyped card number, a billing address that differs from the one used for Kalshi verification, a failed 3D Secure check, or a block by your card issuer. Deposits under $10 also fail. For a bank transfer, unsettled pending deposits can trigger an insufficient funds error.

Can I deposit on Kalshi with PayPal or Venmo?

Yes. Choose PayPal or Venmo under Add funds, log in and authorize the payment. The account must be in the same name as your Kalshi account. Kalshi says both may not be available in all states, and money deposited this way can be withdrawn right away.
