How to pay for Netflix with Halocard

01

Create a card for Netflix in Halocard

In your Halocard dashboard, create a new card, name it Netflix and set a limit that covers what you are about to pay.

02

Open Manage payment info on netflix.com

Sign in on the Netflix website, open Account and select Manage payment info. Select Update next to the current card, or + Add Payment Method to add the Halocard. New members enter the card at netflix.com/signup after choosing a plan.

03

Make the Halocard the Preferred method

If more than one payment method is on the account, select the three dots to the right of the Update button on the Halocard and choose Make Preferred. The other methods become backups that Netflix charges only if the Preferred one is declined.

Tips for successful payments at Netflix

  • AcceptedAdd the card on the Netflix website, not in the app. Payment methods cannot be managed in the app, except the app from the Samsung Galaxy Store.
  • AcceptedIf more than one payment method is saved, mark the card as Preferred. Netflix charges the Preferred method first and the others only as backups.
  • AcceptedEnter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Halocard.
  • AcceptedSet the card limit above the full amount plus the hold Netflix places when you pay. Netflix's Terms of Use allow a pre-authorization of up to one month of service when you register.

Why do Netflix payments decline?

"Your account is on hold because of a problem with your last payment" (error E101)
Netflix could not take the monthly charge. Check the card is active with room for the plan price plus tax, then open Manage payment info and select Update or Change payment method. Netflix retries failed payments during the billing cycle.
The bank declined the charge
On the Manage payment info page, check the postal code, security code and expiration date, correct any mistake and retry the payment. Netflix also asks that the card supports e-commerce transactions.
The ZIP code does not match what the bank has on file
Enter the ZIP code of the card's billing address, then try again. Netflix lists this mismatch as a cause of an account hold.

Netflix payment FAQ

How do I change my payment method on Netflix?
On the Netflix website, open Account, then Manage payment info. Select Update next to the current method, or + Add Payment Method for a new one. The app cannot manage payment methods, except the app from the Samsung Galaxy Store. With several methods saved, the one marked Preferred is charged first and the others are backups. See Netflix's article on adding or updating a payment method.
Can I pay for Netflix with a gift card?
Yes. Netflix gift cards are sold at Walmart, Kroger and Dollar General, and online at Amazon, Walmart.com and Giftcards.com. Redeem the code at netflix.com/redeem. The balance pays your next charges before any card is used, you can redeem several cards, and Netflix emails you 7 days before the balance runs out. A gift card cannot be redeemed on an account billed through Apple.
When does Netflix bill me and how much?
Netflix charges once a month on the date you signed up, and the charge can take several days to appear. Prices on 5 October 2026 are Standard with ads $8.99, Standard $19.99 and Premium $26.99 a month, plus tax where it applies. Your Payment History page on netflix.com lists every charge.
Can I pay for Netflix with Apple Pay or through Google Play?
Netflix does not list Apple Pay or Google Pay. Billing through Apple is no longer available to new or rejoining members, and Netflix says to sign up at netflix.com in a mobile browser instead. The Android app from Google Play can start sign-up but sends you to a browser to enter payment. Netflix bills the card itself.
