Tips for successful payments at Alibaba.com

  • AcceptedPay from the order page on Alibaba.com. A payment sent to a supplier's own account, or by a method that is not on the checkout page, is not covered by Trade Assurance.
  • AcceptedKeep each card payment at or under USD 12,000, counting tax and the processing fee. Pay a larger order by wire transfer, which has no upper limit.
  • AcceptedCheck that the order offers card payment before you start. The options appear after you click Send initial payment, Send balance payment or Make payment.
  • AcceptedFor Google Pay, use the Android app or Chrome on a Windows computer. Alibaba.com supports Google Pay only on those.

Why do Alibaba.com payments decline?

"Current payment is failed on this transaction. Please pay via other payment methods."
Alibaba.com's routine security check rejected the payment, and that card can no longer pay for this order. Pay with another method such as wire transfer, or file an appeal on the Identity Check page on a computer with photos of the card, a card bill and your ID. A reply comes in 1 to 2 business days.
"Current payment is failed on this transaction as it exceeds per transaction limit."
Card payments stop at USD 12,000 including tax and the processing fee. Pay the order by wire transfer instead, which has no upper limit.
"Card information mistake."
Check the card number, expiration date, CVV, cardholder name and billing address against the card, then pay again.
"Transaction was rejected by your bank due to insufficient funds."
Make sure the card covers the order total plus the processing fee, then pay again. Alibaba.com says it takes no money for a failed payment; any hold is released by the bank in 7 to 10 business days.
