While Halocard has successfully processed transactions at Tello Mobile, this isn't a guarantee of acceptance. Merchant acceptance can change at any time, and merchants can apply fraud and risk-based controls that prevent individual customers from using US-issued cards at checkout. We recommend using Halocard to make a test payment with Tello Mobile in your own situation to confirm acceptance.

Tips for successful payments at Tello Mobile

  • AcceptedMake plan changes at least 24 hours before your renewal date so they apply to the next cycle.
  • AcceptedEnter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Halocard.
  • AcceptedSet the card limit above the full amount, including any hold Tello Mobile places at checkout.

Why do Tello Mobile payments decline?

Your renewal payment failed
Tello emails and texts you when a card is expired, over its limit or blocked. Update the payment method in your account before service stops, because support cannot add back a missed renewal.
Your card won't save
Add the card at checkout during a manual renewal instead. The plan renews straight away, so do it a few days before your renewal date.

Tello Mobile payment FAQ

What should I do if Tello Mobile declines or doesn't support my card?
Pay with a Halocard instead. Tello Mobile accepts it, and as a US-issued Visa credit card held in US dollars it is accepted at checkouts that are strict about card type or country. Halocard is available for customers in the US and 120+ countries, so check that your country is supported, then make a card for Tello Mobile in minutes. See the countries Halocard supports.
Can I use a virtual card for Tello Mobile?
Yes. Tello Mobile accepts Halocard, a US-issued Visa credit card that works like a debit card. Make a card just for Tello Mobile and you are in full control: set a limit, lock it or cancel it whenever you like, without ever handing Tello Mobile your bank card.
How do I stop Tello Mobile charging me after I cancel?
The fastest way is to lock the Halocard you use for Tello Mobile. Halocard is a US-issued Visa credit card that gives you a separate card for each merchant, and locking one takes a couple of clicks in your Halocard dashboard. Tello Mobile can't charge that card again until you unlock it, so you stay in full control even when cancelling is slow or hard to find. To cancel with Tello Mobile as well, sign in to your Tello Mobile account and cancel the plan in its billing or subscription settings.
Can I keep my real card and address private from Tello Mobile?
Yes, with Halocard. Halocard is a US-issued Visa credit card that gives you a separate card for each merchant, so Tello Mobile only ever sees your Halocard, never your bank card. You choose the cardholder name and billing address on each card, so your home address stays out of Tello Mobile's records. If Tello Mobile is ever caught up in a data breach, cancel that one card and make a new one in seconds.
How do I pay my Tello bill?
Tello plans are paid upfront for 30 days, and Autopay renews them on day 30, usually between 5 AM and 11 AM Eastern, with the payment method saved for each line. You can turn on a 48-hour reminder before each renewal in your account under Payment.
Can I pay Tello with PayPal or Venmo?
Yes. Tello accepts PayPal and Venmo, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. To use one for renewals, pay an order with it and save it at checkout; it then shows in the Billed From dropdown for each line.
