Not acceptedHalocard is not accepted

Halocard is not accepted at Revolut. Revolut is charged under the payments to financial institutions category, which Visa classifies as high-risk, so Halocard declines payments to it on every card. This is a Halocard rule, not a Revolut rule. Revolut lets you add money by bank transfer, an easy bank transfer from a linked bank, Apple Pay, Google Pay, a Visa, Mastercard or Maestro card, or cash at participating retailers. Card top-ups are taken in USD only, from a card issued in the country where your Revolut account is held, and the first one is free.

What you can do instead

  • Send a regular bank transfer to your Revolut account details from your other bank.
  • Use an easy bank transfer: link a supported bank in the Revolut app and approve the transfer in your bank's app.
  • Deposit cash at a participating retailer from Add money, then Deposit cash.
  • Have your salary paid straight into your Revolut account.
  • Add a Visa, Mastercard or Maestro card from your own bank, directly or through Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Tips for successful payments at Revolut

  • AcceptedBefore paying, set the top-up currency to your card's local currency so your bank adds no exchange fee.
  • AcceptedCheck that Apple Pay or Google Pay is not set to a Revolut card as the default, since a Revolut card cannot add money to Revolut.
  • AcceptedAfter your first easy bank transfer, the linked bank is saved under Methods on the Adding money screen for next time.
  • AcceptedYour first card top-up is free, and any later fee is shown before you confirm.

Revolut payment FAQ

How do I add money to Revolut?
Go to Home, tap Add money, enter the amount and choose a payment method: a saved card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, an easy bank transfer from a linked bank, or a cash deposit. You can also start a regular bank transfer from your other bank using your Revolut account details.
Can I top up Revolut with a credit card?
Yes, with a Visa, Mastercard or Maestro credit card issued where your account is held. Commercial cards are not accepted. After the free first top-up, Revolut charges up to 3% for a domestic personal credit card, and your card issuer may add its own fee if it treats the top-up as a cash advance.
Does Revolut charge a fee to add money?
Bank transfers carry no load fee, apart from a $10 fee on inbound domestic wires. After the free first card top-up, Revolut charges up to 1% for a domestic debit card and up to 3% for a credit card, and the same fees apply through Apple Pay or Google Pay. Cash deposits also carry a fee.
Can I add money to Revolut with Apple Pay or Google Pay?
Yes. Tap Add money, enter the amount, pick Apple Pay or Google Pay as the payment method and tap Pay. Make sure the wallet's default card is not a Revolut card. Wallet top-ups have a weekly limit, and if you reach it, Revolut suggests a direct card top-up instead.
Can I deposit cash into Revolut?
Yes, at participating retailers. In the app, choose Add money, then Deposit cash, find a location and pay in the cash with your Revolut card. Each deposit is capped at $500, with at most $1,500 or 3 deposits a day, and the money usually appears within 30 minutes.
