How to pay for PlayStation with Halocard

01

Create a card for PlayStation in Halocard

In your Halocard dashboard, create a new card, name it PlayStation and set a limit that covers what you are about to pay.

02

Open Payment Methods on PS5, PS4 or the web

On PS5, go to Settings, Users and Accounts, Account, Payment and Subscriptions, Payment Methods. On PS4, open PlayStation Store and select Payment Methods at the bottom of the sidebar. On the web, sign in to Account Management and select Payment Method.

03

Add the card and billing address

Choose Credit/Debit Card, or Add Payment Method then Add a Credit/Debit Card on the web. On PS5 you can scan the QR code to finish on your phone, or select Use Controller Instead. Enter the card details, select Next, then enter the billing address and select Save.

04

Buy directly or add funds to your wallet

Pick the card at checkout, or top up first. On PS5, go to Settings, Users and Accounts, Account, Payment and Subscriptions, Add Funds, choose the card and amount, select Continue and confirm with Yes.

05

Check your PlayStation Plus renewal date

PlayStation Plus renews at the current regular price until you cancel. On PS5, go to Settings, Users and Accounts, Account, Payment and Subscriptions, Subscriptions to see the next payment date or cancel. On the web, use Subscription in Account Management.

Tips for successful payments at PlayStation

  • AcceptedSet the card as your default payment method, because PlayStation Plus renewals and any amount your wallet does not cover are charged to it.
  • AcceptedWallet funds are always spent first, so check your wallet balance before checkout to know how much will go on the card.
  • AcceptedKeep a payment method saved even when you pay for a subscription with wallet funds, since PlayStation may still ask for one.
  • AcceptedAdd cards and funds from an adult account. A child account has no wallet and can only spend from the family manager's wallet within its monthly limit.

Why do PlayStation payments decline?

"Your card could not be updated"
If the message says your payment information was updated too often in a short time, the account is blocked for 24 hours. Wait the full 24 hours, since any attempt restarts the block, and pay with wallet funds or another method meanwhile.
Card country does not match the account's country
PlayStation may verify your country of residence from the card number and reject a mismatch, and the account country cannot be changed. Use a card registered in the same country as your account.
Special characters in the name or address
Enter the details as they appear on your bank statement. Replace accented letters with plain ones and leave out asterisks, hyphens, apostrophes and slashes.
Online payments switched off or the card blocked
Turn on online payments with your card provider and confirm the card is active, has funds and is not blocked. Check the PlayStation status page too, and retry once every service shows green.

PlayStation payment FAQ

How do I add funds to my PlayStation wallet?
On PS5, go to Settings, Users and Accounts, Account, Payment and Subscriptions, Add Funds, then pick a payment method and amount and confirm. Online, sign in to PlayStation Store, select your profile icon, then Payment Management and Add Funds. You can also redeem a PlayStation Store gift card. Funds added to the wallet cannot be refunded except where the law requires.
Does PlayStation Store accept PayPal?
Yes. PayPal, Venmo and Cash App Pay can all pay for PlayStation Store purchases and wallet top-ups. You can save one payment service to your account at a time, alongside up to 3 credit or debit cards.
What is the SIE PlayStation Network charge on my card?
SIE stands for Sony Interactive Entertainment, the company behind PlayStation. The charge is usually a PlayStation Store purchase or a PlayStation Plus renewal. Your subscriptions and their next payment dates are listed under Payment and Subscriptions, Subscriptions on PS5, or Subscription in Account Management on the web.
Does PlayStation Plus renew automatically?
Yes. PlayStation Plus is charged automatically at the current regular PlayStation Store price, at the frequency you chose, until you cancel. Wallet funds are used first, and if the wallet is short when the payment is due, the balance comes from your default payment method. A cancelled subscription stops from the next payment date.
Can I use Apple Pay on PlayStation Store?
Yes. Choose Apple Pay at checkout on the web, PS5 or PS4 and follow the on-screen instructions. Apple Pay must be set up on your phone or another Apple device, with a valid payment method in your Apple account. If it is not offered in your account's region, it will not appear as an option.
