Halocard is accepted at Discord. Discord accepts credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, Cash App Pay and Discord gift card balance for Nitro, Server Boosts and Shop items. Add a card under User Settings, then Billing, and keep its billing address the same as the one your bank holds, or Discord shows a Billing address is invalid error.

What is Halocard?

Create a card for Discord in Halocard

In your Halocard dashboard, create a new card, name it Discord and set a limit that covers what you are about to pay.

Add the card under User Settings, then Billing

Open User Settings with the cogwheel, choose the Billing tab and select Add Payment Method. Enter the card details and the billing address your card issuer holds, then complete the prompts.

Set it as your subscription card

Open User Settings, then Subscriptions, and choose the card in the Pay for it With section. To show it first at checkout too, select Edit next to it under Billing, tick Make this my default payment method and press Save.

Buy a Server Boost from the server menu

Open the server, select its name in the top left and choose Server Boost, then Boost This Server. If you have no unused Boosts, Discord opens a window to buy one. Follow the prompts to apply it.

Tips for successful payments at Discord

AcceptedPick the card in the Pay for it With section under User Settings, then Subscriptions. Changing your default card does not move your Nitro or Boost renewal to it.
AcceptedIf Discord shows Action Required at checkout, open the Authorize Payments for Discord Client email, select Verify Purchase, then make the purchase again.
AcceptedEnter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Halocard.
AcceptedSet the card limit above the full amount plus the hold Discord places when you pay. Discord reverses the temporary hold straight away, and banks usually release it within a few business days.

Why do Discord payments decline?

"Billing address is invalid": The address saved with the card does not match the one your bank holds. Open User Settings, then Billing, select the card, choose Edit and enter the billing address from your Halocard dashboard.
"Invalid payment": Discord shows this when something is wrong with the payment method. Check the card number, expiry date and billing address, and that the card's available limit covers the price plus tax, then try again.
Payment method not available at checkout: Payment methods must match your account's Country/Region, shown in the Billing tab. A card from a different country may not work once Country/Region is set, and it changes only once every 90 days.
Payment shows as Pending: The charge needs more verification from your card provider. If it is not resolved it cancels within 3 days and shows as Failed, and the pending amount leaves your statement within 5 to 10 business days.

Can I pay for Discord Nitro with PayPal?

Yes. PayPal is one of the methods Discord accepts everywhere, alongside credit or debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Purchases made through PayPal show on your statement as PAYPAL DISCORD.

Can I pay for Nitro with a Discord gift card?

Yes. A Discord gift card adds a balance you can spend on Nitro, Nitro Basic, Server Boosts and Shop items. Redeem it on Discord's redeem page or under User Settings, then Billing, on desktop. The balance must cover the whole price, because Discord cannot split one purchase between the balance and a card, and it cannot be spent in the mobile app.

What happens if my Nitro renewal payment fails?

Your subscription shows as Past Due. Bought on desktop, you keep your perks for 30 days from the renewal date while Discord tries the payment again; Google Play allows 30 days and the App Store 60. If no payment succeeds in that window, the subscription ends and your streak resets.

Can I use Apple Pay or Google Pay on Discord?

Yes, in select billing flows such as buying Nitro for yourself in the desktop app or a supported browser. Google Pay needs Chrome 61 or later. Apple Pay needs Safari on macOS Sierra or iOS 10.1 or later, with a card already set up. Without support, Discord shows its standard card form.

Why is there a temporary hold from Discord on my card?

Discord may place a temporary hold when you make a purchase or start a trial, to confirm the payment method works. It reverses the hold straight away and marks it Canceled in your transaction history. Banks usually release it within a few business days; if it still shows after 5, contact Discord support.
