Tips for successful payments at GTL

  • AcceptedSave your card under Payment Methods in the left menu of your ConnectNetwork account so later deposits only need the CVV.
  • AcceptedTurn on AutoReload in the AdvancePay Preferences chart so a stored card refills the balance when it reaches your chosen threshold.
  • AcceptedEach phone number on AdvancePay is funded separately, so deposit to the number your loved one will call.
  • AcceptedKeep enough on AdvancePay for a 5-minute call at your facility's rates, shown under Rates and Fees once you sign in.

Why do GTL payments decline?

Locked out of the automated card payment system
ConnectNetwork advises using no more than two different cards on one account to stay clear of this lock. Keep to one or two cards, and call customer service on +1 (877) 650-4249 for help.
Online card payment rejected for the billing address
ConnectNetwork processes an online card payment only when the address you enter matches the address on your card statements. Re-enter that address exactly and try again.

GTL payment FAQ

What should I do if ConnectNetwork declines or doesn't support my card?
Pay with a Halocard instead. ConnectNetwork accepts it, and as a US-issued Visa credit card held in US dollars it is accepted at checkouts that are strict about card type or country. Halocard is available for customers in the US and 120+ countries, so check that your country is supported, then make a card for ConnectNetwork in minutes. See the countries Halocard supports.
Can I use a virtual card for ConnectNetwork?
Yes. ConnectNetwork accepts Halocard, a US-issued Visa credit card that works like a debit card. Make a card just for ConnectNetwork and you are in full control: set a limit, lock it or cancel it whenever you like, without ever handing ConnectNetwork your bank card.
Can I keep my real card and address private from ConnectNetwork?
Yes. ConnectNetwork only ever sees your Halocard, never your bank card. You choose the cardholder name and billing address on each card, so your home address stays out of ConnectNetwork's records. If ConnectNetwork is ever caught up in a data breach, cancel that one card and make a new one in seconds.
How do I add money to a GTL phone account?
Sign in to ConnectNetwork and select Add Funds in the AdvancePay area of your Dashboard, or use the ConnectNetwork app. You can also pay by phone at (800) 483-8314, at a facility kiosk, with cash at participating retail stores, or by mailing a check or money order payable to AdvancePay Service Department with your account number. Online, app, phone and kiosk deposits are usually available right away.
What is GTL AdvancePay?
AdvancePay is a prepaid collect calling account set up on your own phone number. Your loved one can call that number using the money you deposit, and the cost of each completed call comes off the balance. You can open several accounts for different facilities or numbers. Rates and fees are set by each facility and shown in your ConnectNetwork account.
Can I get a refund from GTL?
For AdvancePay, yes, while the account is active. It becomes inactive after 180 days without use, and refunds stop then. ConnectNetwork aims to refund within 30 days of a verified request, and no later than 60. Call +1 (877) 650-4249 for GTL accounts. Trust Fund deposits are final, unused Message Credits are not refunded, and PIN Debit money belongs to the inmate, who can request it on release.
How do I put money on an inmate's commissary with ConnectNetwork?
Use the Trust Fund service. Add the facility and your loved one with their booking ID, choose Trust Fund in the left menu and make a deposit. Deposits made online, in the app, by phone or at a kiosk reach the facility within one business day. Fees vary by facility. Trust Fund money cannot pay for phone calls; AdvancePay or PIN Debit does that.
How do I deposit money through the GettingOut app?
GettingOut takes deposits on its website, in its free iPhone and Android apps, by phone at 1 (866) 516-0115 and at facility lobby kiosks. Online and by phone it accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. Funds can go to a prepaid inmate account, a Friends and Family account or Trust and Commissary, which can take up to 72 hours to show.
