Why do Access Corrections payments decline?

Billing address does not match the card
Select Update Billing, correct the address on the Edit Account screen so it matches the card, select Done and pay again.
Invalid CVV number or verify security code
Re-enter the security code from the back of the card. Three wrong CVV entries delete a saved card, so add it again with Add a new card.
No additional transactions can be made
The facility sets how many deposits one card can make and how often. Wait a full 24 hours from your last deposit, then send the money again.
Declined credit card or insufficient funds
Check that the card has enough available for the deposit plus the handling charge, then select Send Money Now to try again or choose another saved card.

Access Corrections payment FAQ

What should I do if Access Corrections declines or doesn't support my card?
Pay with a Halocard instead. Access Corrections accepts it, and as a US-issued Visa credit card held in US dollars it is accepted at checkouts that are strict about card type or country. Halocard is available for customers in the US and 120+ countries, so check that your country is supported, then make a card for Access Corrections in minutes. See the countries Halocard supports.
Can I use a virtual card for Access Corrections?
Yes. Access Corrections accepts Halocard, a US-issued Visa credit card that works like a debit card. Make a card just for Access Corrections and you are in full control: set a limit, lock it or cancel it whenever you like, without ever handing Access Corrections your bank card.
Can I keep my real card and address private from Access Corrections?
Yes. Access Corrections only ever sees your Halocard, never your bank card. You choose the cardholder name and billing address on each card, so your home address stays out of Access Corrections' records. If Access Corrections is ever caught up in a data breach, cancel that one card and make a new one in seconds.
How do I send money to an inmate with Access Corrections?
Select Send Money on accesscorrections.com or in the app, find the agency and inmate, sign in and pay with a Visa or Mastercard card. You can also deposit by phone on 866-345-1884, with cash at lobby kiosks and walk-in partners, or by mailing a money order with the agency's form, where the agency offers them.
Does Access Corrections charge a fee to send money?
Yes. Access Corrections adds a handling charge to each deposit, set by the deposit amount and type. You see the charge and the total before you approve the payment, and service fees are non-refundable.
What is the Access Corrections phone number?
Call 866-345-1884 to make a deposit by phone or get help with your account. Access Corrections also lists 636-888-7004 for its customer service centers, which answer 24/7, and the email customerservice@accesscorrections.com.
What can inmates use Access Corrections money for?
Money in an inmate's trust fund account can pay for commissary items such as food, clothing and personal care products, plus phone time, medical and dental costs and haircuts, depending on the facility. Each agency decides which services the funds cover.
Can I send money with the Access Corrections app?
Yes. The free Access Corrections app for iPhone and Android lets you create an account, search for an agency and inmate, send money with a Visa or Mastercard card and view your transaction history.
