Cash App payment methods
Not acceptedHalocard is not accepted
Halocard is not accepted at Cash App, which charges under money transfers, a high-risk category Halocard doesn't support. Cash App supports domestically issued debit and credit cards from Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, plus most standard prepaid cards and a linked bank account. A linked credit card sends money to other Cash App customers for a 3% fee, while a debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay adds money to your Cash App balance.

What merchant category (MCC) is Cash App?
4829Money transfers- Money transfers and quasi-cash payments are classified as high-risk purchases by Visa and our issuing bank, so payments to merchants in this category will be declined by Halocard. See Halocard's merchant restrictions.
Why Halocard cannot be used at Cash App
Why it isn't supported
Cash App is charged under the money transfers category, which Visa and our issuing bank classify as high-risk, so Halocard declines payments to it on every card. This is a Halocard rule, not a Cash App rule.
What you can do instead
- Link a debit card from your own bank. Sending money from a linked debit card is free, and the card can add money to your Cash App balance.
- Link a bank account, or set up direct deposit into your Cash App balance.
- Add money with Apple Pay or Google Pay, or deposit paper money at a participating store for a $1 fee.
- Send money from a Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover credit card from another issuer, with Cash App's 3% fee.
