Klutch is a US fintech, Klutch Technologies, Inc., founded in 2019 by Renato Steinberg and Rachel Ehrlich. It describes its product as an app-powered card: a Visa credit card whose behaviour you change by adding mini apps, small automations that watch your transactions, create single-use or merchant-locked card numbers, set spending rules and more. Developers get an API.
The card comes in two forms. Klutch Spend, the base card, is a credit card secured by collateral you transfer from a linked US bank account, with no credit check. Klutch Credit is an unsecured revolving credit line provided by Pier Financial, which involves a credit inquiry. Plans run from a free Essentials tier to Rewards and Metal, which add cashback, a physical card and no foreign transaction fee. Klutch is for US residents only, and when we checked in October 2026 its site led with Klutch Spend.
In May 2024, during the collapse of the banking-as-a-service company Synapse, customers reported Klutch credit lines shut, cards declined and deposits frozen. Its site showed a waitlist from then until mid-2025, when it reopened with new partners.
