RedotPay review

1% fee on every payment, and not available in the US

RedotPay is a Hong Kong stablecoin payment app with a Visa card you fund with crypto, a good fit for people outside the US who want to spend crypto, with a 1% crypto conversion fee on every card payment and $10 for each virtual card.

Halocard is the better choice for most people who want virtual cards: it is for customers in the US and 120+ countries, with no crypto to hold, and US residents can use it. RedotPay gives you a Visa card that spends crypto, converted at each purchase for a 1% fee. A virtual card costs $10 and a physical card $100, and there is no monthly fee on the base account, with an optional RedotPay Pro plan at $12.90 a month. It says its services are available in 100+ countries, but its list of unavailable countries includes the US. Halocard is a US-issued Visa credit card for customers in the US and 120+ countries, with a separate card for each merchant and a billing address you choose.

RedotPay FAQ

Is RedotPay safe?

RedotPay is a real company: its terms name Red F. Technology Limited in Hong Kong, it holds Hong Kong money lender and TCSP licences, and it says it is registered as a money services business in Canada and, for internal operations, with FinCEN in the US. Its card terms don't name the bank that issues its cards. It is rated 3.3/5 on Trustpilot from 1,013 reviews, and recent reviewers report slow support and fees on declined payments.

What is RedotPay?

A stablecoin payment app run from Hong Kong by Red F. Technology Limited, founded in 2023. You deposit crypto or stablecoins, or buy crypto by card in the app, and spend it through a Visa card that RedotPay converts to cash at the point of sale. It also offers a multi-currency wallet, crypto transfers, a peer-to-peer marketplace, lending against crypto and an Earn product.

Is RedotPay available in the US?

No. RedotPay's list of unavailable countries includes the US, and its help centre says people from those countries can't complete identity verification or use its services. Its About page adds that its US registration supports internal operations and doesn't involve providing services to US citizens. Halocard is a US-issued Visa credit card for customers in the US and 120+ countries.

What fees does RedotPay charge?

The cost that adds up is a 1% cryptocurrency conversion fee on every card payment: $10 on every $1,000 you spend. A purchase in a non-default currency carries a further 1.2%. There is no monthly fee on the base account, and a virtual card costs $10 and a physical card $100. Declined payments cost $0.50 each after the first 3 a card each month. ATM withdrawals cost 2%, or 3% above $10,000 a month on a USD card. Its fee table is effective from December 1, 2025.

Is RedotPay a credit card or a debit card?

It depends on your country. RedotPay's Hong Kong terms say the card is intended to work as a credit card, backed by a line of credit from Red F. Technology Limited, and its Singapore terms call it a Visa debit card. Neither describes it as prepaid. In practice you spend crypto or funding-account deposits that RedotPay converts when you pay. Halocard is a US-issued Visa credit card for customers in the US and 120+ countries. Halocard works like a debit card: you spend the balance you load, with no credit line and no credit check.

Who issues the RedotPay card?

RedotPay's terms name the companies that run its card programmes: Red F. Technology Limited in Hong Kong and Redotpay Technology Pte. Ltd. in Singapore, the latter as program manager. They don't name the bank that issues the cards, which the Singapore terms call the BIN sponsor.

What is RedotPay Pro?

An optional paid plan, $12.90 a month or $129 a year. Both tiers pay 3% cashback on Apple Pay and Google Pay purchases, up to $18 a month, and waive one card fee: the virtual card on the monthly plan and the physical card on the annual plan. The annual plan also waives ATM fees on up to $1,000 a month. Membership fees are non-refundable.

Does RedotPay have cashback?

Not on the free account. Cashback comes only with RedotPay Pro, its paid plan at $12.90 a month or $129 a year: 3% on Apple Pay and Google Pay purchases, up to $18 a month. It is paid as a credit that can only be spent on card purchases, and it expires after 30 days.

Can you dispute a charge on a RedotPay card?

Yes, but a chargeback has a fee. RedotPay's help centre says a dispute over goods or services you didn't receive, or a refund a merchant won't pay, costs $50 for each transaction, paid upfront, and usually takes 3 to 6 months. If the merchant contests it and you continue to pre-arbitration, the fee is $700, refunded only if the chargeback succeeds. A payment you didn't authorise is reported in the app instead.

How many cards can you have with RedotPay?

Up to 5 in total, virtual and physical combined. It is a lifetime limit, so cards you delete still count toward it. Halocard plans hold 3 to 60 cards at once.

How do you fund RedotPay?

With crypto: you deposit supported assets such as USDT, USDC, BTC and ETH on-chain, or buy crypto by card inside the app. In some countries you can also open a USD, EUR or GBP funding account and send a bank transfer into it from a personal bank account. RedotPay charges no deposit fee of its own.

Does RedotPay work with Apple Pay and Google Pay?

Yes. Its help centre says the virtual card can be added to Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal, and to check that your card is supported first. Every Halocard can be added to Apple Pay and Google Pay too, and both can fund your Halocard balance.

Can you withdraw money from RedotPay?

RedotPay says you can send crypto to an external wallet, and its help centre has an article on withdrawing EUR or GBP to a bank account. Its terms say that when an account is closed it decides how a remaining balance is returned, and may charge a fee for the refund or release.

What crypto does RedotPay support?

Its help centre lists assets including BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL, SUI, TRX, XRP, USDT and USDC for payments and deposits. Some assets aren't available in some countries: it says USDT isn't available in the UK, for example.
