How to pay for X Ads with Halocard
Halocard limits at X Ads

Log in to ads.x.com from the handle you advertise with
Log in to X with the account whose posts you want to promote, then go to ads.x.com. A new ads account asks for a country and time zone before billing.

Open Billing and click Add card
Click the Billing tab on the left of Ads Manager, then Add card. Enter the card number, expiration date, CVV, billing address and email address, then click Add payment method.

Check the card shows as Active
X runs an internal check on the card. Once it is approved it shows as Active in the Billing tab and your campaigns can start.

Star the card to make it the default
If the account already has another card, click the star icon next to the new one under Payment Methods. Your campaigns are then billed to that card.

Tips for successful payments at X Ads
- AcceptedWhen you create the ads account, pick the country whose currency you want to be billed in. X does not let you change the country, time zone or currency afterwards.
- AcceptedKeep a second card in the Billing tab. If the primary card fails, X charges your other payment methods.
- AcceptedWhen spend reaches a threshold, a Pay Now button appears in the Billing tab, so you can pay the balance straight away instead of waiting for automatic billing.
- AcceptedEnter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Halocard.
Why do X Ads payments decline?
- Campaigns show as "Paused"
- Campaigns pause when they reach a spend threshold with charges still unpaid. Pay the outstanding balance, for example with Pay Now in the Billing tab, and they resume.
- The ads account is halted after a payment review
- X halts accounts for inconsistent payment information or suspicious payment activity such as multiple chargebacks or failed payments. Make sure the card details and billing address you entered are consistent, then appeal by contacting X Ads support.

What payment methods does X Ads accept?
Self-serve advertisers pay with credit or debit cards. X accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB and China Union Pay credit cards, and Visa, Mastercard and American Express debit cards. China Union Pay is accepted only as a credit card. Advertiser coupons go only to selected advertisers in pilot programs, and you still need a card on the account to use one.
How do I pay for X Ads?
Accounts that pay by card use automatic billing. X charges your primary card when you reach a spend threshold and periodically charges any remaining costs. You can also use Pay Now in the Billing tab to clear the balance early. An invoice is issued once per billing cycle, or each time you use Pay Now, and every invoice is kept in the Billing tab.
Why did X Ads take $5 from my card?
When you add a card, X runs an internal check and places a $5 pre-authorization, or the local equivalent, to confirm the card is valid. It is a temporary hold and is removed within 7 days.
Can I change the currency of my X Ads account?
No. The country, time zone and currency are fixed when the ads account is created. To use another currency, submit a support ticket and X creates a new ads account linked to your handle. Pause campaigns on the old account first, because you stay responsible for charges in every ads account tied to your handle.
Do I need X Premium to advertise on X?
Yes, or Verified Organizations for a business. X Ads accepts only accounts verified through one of those programs. The account must also be public and not suspended or deactivated, and its profile must follow the X Ads quality rules, including a working link in the bio.
