Log in to Ads Manager, click the menu in the top corner and select Billing & Payments.

Fill in the secondary credit card details and click Add. Snap uses the backup if the primary card is declined.

Verify the card if asked

Open the Payment Methods tab under Billing & Payments. If a verification prompt shows, complete it, and approve any one-time code or app prompt from the card issuer.

Tips for successful payments at Snapchat Ads

  • AcceptedEnter a billing address in Ads Manager first. Snap asks for it before a payment method can be added.
  • AcceptedAdd a second card as a backup payment method, so ads keep running if the main card is declined.
  • AcceptedUse a card that no other Snap organization uses, and create a separate card for each organization.
  • AcceptedExpect several charges a day on a busy account. Snap charges each time spend reaches your billing threshold, and the threshold rises after successful payments.

Why do Snapchat Ads payments decline?

Bank verification needed (3D Secure)
Remove the card, add it again and finish the verification prompt. Turn off any VPN or pop-up blocker that could stop the verification page from loading.
Amount or activity limit reached
The card has reached a spending limit or a limit on the number of transactions in a short period. Wait for the daily limit to reset, or ask the card issuer for a higher limit.
Insufficient funds
Add funds to the card, or switch the ad account to a card with enough available balance. Then go to Billing & Payments, Payment methods and select Pay now.
Recurring charges stopped
A block on recurring charges from Snap was set earlier. Remove the block on the card, or add a new payment method.
