While Halocard has successfully processed transactions at Pokémon Center, this isn't a guarantee of acceptance. Merchant acceptance can change at any time, and merchants can apply fraud and risk-based controls that prevent individual customers from using US-issued cards at checkout. We recommend using Halocard to make a test payment with Pokémon Center in your own situation to confirm acceptance.

How to pay for Pokémon Center with Halocard

01

Create a card for Pokémon Center in Halocard

In your Halocard dashboard, create a new card, name it Pokémon Center and set a limit that covers what you are about to pay.

02

Sign in and add the item to your cart

Sign in to your Pokémon Center account, add the item to your cart and go to checkout. A preorder item shows Preorder: Add to Cart on its product page, and each release date needs its own order.

03

Apply a gift card first, if you have one

Enter the gift card number and PIN at checkout and select Apply. Then choose the payment method for the remaining balance from the drop-down menu.

04

Enter the card and its billing address

Enter the Halocard number, expiry date and security code, then the billing address your card issuer has on file. Review the order and place it.

If your Halocard is declined

Using several accounts, ACO or a bot at Pokémon Center?

Pokémon Center sells for personal use and can limit quantities per order, account, card, person or household. Orders it links to one customer above its limit are stopped at checkout or canceled afterwards, sometimes days later. Pokémon Center makes that decision, not Halocard, and it applies whichever card you pay with.

Option 1: Keep each account's payment separate

  1. Use one Halocard per Pokémon Center account, and use that card on no other account.
  2. Enter the cardholder name and Halocard billing address at checkout exactly as they are set on that card.
  3. Set the Halocard spending limit above the order total plus any hold, and keep the card funded until the order ships.

Option 2: Stay inside Pokémon Center's limits

  1. Keep each order within the purchase limit shown for the product. A separate card does not raise a limit set per person, household or address.
  2. Ship to your own accurate address, not an altered or forwarding one.
  3. Order from an account with history where you can. Accounts made just before a drop are canceled far more often.

Still declined or canceled? Contact Pokémon Center support about that order, because Halocard cannot reverse a decision Pokémon Center makes on its side. If the decline shows in your Halocard dashboard instead, see why a Halocard transaction is declined.

Tips for successful payments at Pokémon Center

  • AcceptedCreate a Pokémon Center account and check out signed in, instead of ordering as a guest.
  • AcceptedKeep the card used for a preorder active and funded until the order ships. Pokémon Center authorizes it again 3 to 5 business days before shipping.
  • AcceptedStay within the purchase limit shown on the product page. Pokémon Center can limit quantities per order, account, card, person or household.
  • AcceptedEnter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Halocard.

Why do Pokémon Center payments decline?

An error when you place the order
Pokémon Center says most order errors happen when its billing system is unable to verify the payment details. Check that the billing address matches the one your card issuer has on file, check out from an account rather than as a guest, and try another browser or device.
A preorder canceled when it was processed for shipping
Pokémon Center cancels a preorder when the card fails authorization at shipping time. Keep enough funds on the card and make sure it has not expired. If a charge attempt fails, follow the email from Pokémon Center to change the payment method before preorders start shipping.
Two charges for one order
One is the authorization hold and the other is the order total. The hold drops by itself after 5 to 7 business days, and with some card issuers it can last up to 30 days.
An order canceled after checkout
The most common reasons are an item that is no longer available or a change to the card on file after the order was placed. One unavailable item can cancel the whole order. Order again with a card that stays unchanged until the order ships.

Pokémon Center payment FAQ

What should I do if Pokémon Center declines or doesn't support my card?
Pay with a Halocard instead. Pokémon Center accepts it, and as a US-issued Visa credit card held in US dollars it is accepted at checkouts that are strict about card type or country. Halocard is available for customers in the US and 120+ countries, so check that your country is supported, then make a card for Pokémon Center in minutes. See the countries Halocard supports.
Can I use a virtual card for Pokémon Center?
Yes. Pokémon Center accepts Halocard, a US-issued Visa credit card that works like a debit card. Make a card just for Pokémon Center and you are in full control: set a limit, lock it or cancel it whenever you like, without ever handing Pokémon Center your bank card.
Can I keep my real card and address private from Pokémon Center?
Yes, with Halocard. Halocard is a US-issued Visa credit card that gives you a separate card for each merchant, so Pokémon Center only ever sees your Halocard, never your bank card. You choose the cardholder name and billing address on each card, so your home address stays out of Pokémon Center's records. If Pokémon Center is ever caught up in a data breach, cancel that one card and make a new one in seconds.
Does Pokémon Center accept PayPal?
Yes. PayPal is an accepted payment method on Pokémon Center for in-stock orders, and it can cover the balance left after a gift card. Preorders are paid with a credit or debit card instead.
When does Pokémon Center charge your card?
Pokémon Center charges your payment method once the order has shipped. Before that you see an authorization hold, which drops after 5 to 7 business days, or up to 30 days with some banks. For a preorder, a second authorization appears 3 to 5 business days before shipping to confirm the card is still valid.
How does the Pokémon Center queue work?
Pokémon Center uses a virtual queue to manage site traffic. Keep the queue window open and leave the page as it is until you are redirected to the site. Opening extra tabs or alternate links will not move you ahead and can cause errors. A place in line is not a guarantee of stock. Shop on your own region's site without a VPN.
How do I use a Pokémon Center gift card?
Enter the gift code and PIN at checkout and select Apply. One gift card can be used per order, and its balance is used in full before any other payment method. You can pay the rest with PayPal, a credit card or a debit card. Gift cards are for in-stock items on the regional site where they were bought.
Can I cancel a Pokémon Center order?
A standard order is final once it is placed, and its contents stay as ordered. A preorder can be canceled with the Cancel Preorder button on the Order Details page until it is processed for shipping. Items that are not final sale can be returned within 30 days of delivery.
