Why do Hinge payments decline?

Payment declined through Hinge payment (powered by Stripe)
Hinge payment charges your card directly under dating services (MCC 7273), which Halocard declines. On iPhone, choose Subscribe with App Store instead, or subscribe through Google Play on Android, with the card saved in your Apple or Google account; the charge then comes from Apple or Google.
Your Apple ID is linked to another Hinge account
Each Apple ID can have one Hinge account and one subscription at a time. Sign in to the old account with its phone number, delete it from Account Settings, then subscribe on the new one.
An error when upgrading on Android after subscribing with Hinge payment on iPhone
Go back to the iPhone and upgrade under Manage Subscription in Account Settings, or cancel, let the subscription run out, then resubscribe through Google Play.

Hinge payment FAQ

Can I keep my real card and address private from Hinge?
Yes. Hinge only ever sees your Halocard, never your bank card. You choose the cardholder name and billing address on each card, so your real details stay out of Hinge's records. If you ever want a clean break, cancel that card and make a new one in seconds.
Will Hinge show up on my bank statement?
No. Your Hinge purchases, with the merchant name and amount, show only in your Halocard account, never on your bank or card statement. When you add funds by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, your bank sees a single deposit labelled HALOCARD and nothing about where you spend it. What your bank statement shows.
Can I use a virtual card for Hinge?
Yes. Halocard is a US-issued Visa credit card that works like a debit card, so you can make a card just for Hinge and stay in full control of it.
How do you pay for Hinge?
You subscribe inside the Hinge app. On iPhone the subscription packages offer Hinge payment, powered by Stripe, or Subscribe with App Store, which charges the payment details linked to your Apple ID. On Android, Google Play processes the purchase. Plans are billed weekly, monthly, every three months or every six months, and renew automatically until you cancel.
How do I cancel my Hinge subscription?
Cancel where you subscribed, at least 24 hours before the next billing period. For the App Store, open your subscriptions in iPhone Settings, tap Hinge and Cancel Subscription. For Hinge payment, open Account Settings in the Hinge app and tap Cancel Subscription. On Android, cancel from the Google Play subscriptions page. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Is Hinge free?
Yes. The regular version of Hinge is free to download and use on iPhone and Android. Hinge+ and HingeX subscriptions, Roses and Boosts are paid extras you buy in the app.
Can I get a refund from Hinge?
Most purchases are nonrefundable, and Roses and Boosts are final. Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases and Google handles Google Play ones. For a Hinge payment subscription bought in the last 14 days, contact Hinge support. In some states, including California and New York, you can cancel within 3 business days of subscribing for a full refund.
What does Hinge show up as on a bank statement?
It depends on how you paid. An App Store subscription is charged by Apple and shows as apple.com/bill. Google Play purchases show as GOOGLE* followed by the app or developer name. A Hinge payment subscription is charged by Hinge through Stripe, its billing partner.
