Add the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay
On iPhone, add the Halocard to Apple Pay in the Wallet app and choose it as the payment method on your Apple Account. On Android, add it to Google Pay in Google Wallet, and Google Play can use it.

Open XTRA in the Grindr app
Log in and tap the XTRA icon at the bottom of the screen. For Unlimited, select Unlimited at the top of the screen.

Choose a plan and tap Continue
Pick the weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly option on offer and tap Continue. The app hands you to the App Store or Google Play.

Confirm the purchase with Apple or Google
Approve with Touch ID or your store details and confirm the subscription. Grindr emails a confirmation once the purchase goes through.

Why do Grindr payments decline?

- Purchases where Grindr is the merchant of record are charged under dating services (MCC 7273), which Halocard declines. Buy in the Grindr app on iPhone or Android with the card saved in your Apple or Google account; the charge then comes from Apple or Google.

- Grindr bills through your store account, so check that a valid card is saved there or that the account holds enough balance, then try the purchase again.

Can I keep my real card and address private from Grindr?
Yes. Grindr only ever sees your Halocard, never your bank card. You choose the cardholder name and billing address on each card, so your real details stay out of Grindr's records. If you ever want a clean break, cancel that card and make a new one in seconds.
Will Grindr show up on my bank statement?
No. Your Grindr purchases, with the merchant name and amount, show only in your Halocard account, never on your bank or card statement. When you add funds by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, your bank sees a single deposit labelled HALOCARD and nothing about where you spend it. What your bank statement shows.
Can I use a virtual card for Grindr?
Yes. Halocard is a US-issued Visa credit card that works like a debit card, so you can make a card just for Grindr and stay in full control of it.
How do you pay for a Grindr subscription?
In the Grindr app, tap the XTRA icon, choose a plan and tap Continue. The app sends you to the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android, which charges the card or balance saved in your store account. Plans can be weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly, depending on what is offered where you are.

Grindr Web is the browser version of Grindr, open to XTRA and Unlimited subscribers. Creating an account, managing your subscription and making purchases all happen in the Grindr app, so subscribe in the app first and then log in on the web with the same details.
How do I cancel a Grindr subscription?
Cancel through the store you paid with. On iPhone, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then Subscriptions, Grindr and Cancel Subscription. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile icon, then Payments & Subscriptions, Subscriptions and Cancel under Grindr. Deleting the app or your profile does not cancel, and premium features stay on until the billing period ends.
Can I get a refund from Grindr?
Grindr's terms make purchases final and nonrefundable. Apple handles refunds for iPhone purchases, through Report a Problem on your App Store receipt. For Google Play purchases, Grindr support can occasionally help. Subscribers in California and some other states can cancel for a refund before midnight of the third business day after subscribing.
What does Grindr show up as on a bank statement?
iPhone purchases show as APPLE.COM/BILL, and Google Play purchases begin with GOOGLE followed by the app or developer name. Charge lookup sites list GRINDR for charges billed by Grindr itself. A pre-authorization can also appear for up to 15 business days, and you never pay it.
