Halocard is accepted at Hetzner. Hetzner accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and UnionPay credit cards, bank transfer and manual PayPal payments. Cards are charged automatically a few days after each monthly invoice. New accounts may need to verify with a government ID or a credit card prepayment before the first order goes through.

How to pay for Hetzner with Halocard

Create a card for Hetzner in Halocard

In your Halocard dashboard, create a new card, name it Hetzner and set a limit that covers what you are about to pay.

Register at Hetzner Accounts

Open accounts.hetzner.com, select Register Now and fill in all required details, including your billing address. Click the link in the confirmation email, then log in.

Add the card as your payment method

Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and open payment methods. Choose credit card and enter the card number, expiry and security code, so invoices are charged automatically.

Verify the account if Hetzner asks

Send a copy of a government ID, or make a prepayment with your credit card: open Invoice, select Credit and enter the amount. The credit pays future invoices.

Tips for successful payments at Hetzner

AcceptedRegister with complete, correct details, with any VPN switched off and, if you can, a paid email address rather than a free one.

AcceptedPay the first invoice promptly. Hetzner reacts faster to late payments on new accounts and may lock their servers early.

Why do Hetzner payments decline?

The automatic card charge failed: Hetzner emails you when this happens. In Hetzner Accounts open Invoices, then Overview, click Pay now and pay again with the same card or another one. After five tries, ask the billing team through your account to charge the card manually.
A first order is held or rejected by the fraud check: Large or costly first orders may not be processed automatically. Verify with an ID or a card prepayment, or email cda-review@hetzner.com if you think the rejection is a mistake.
An open invoice stops a new order: Pay every open invoice under Invoices, then place the order again.
Card and PayPal are no longer offered on a late invoice: Hetzner may switch off these options when an invoice is very late. Pay by bank or wire transfer with your customer number in the payment reference, then send the payment confirmation to the billing team.

Hetzner payment FAQ

Does Hetzner accept PayPal?

Yes, but only as a manual payment. Log in to Hetzner Accounts and pay each invoice with PayPal there. Hetzner does not charge PayPal automatically, so invoices are not paid unless you do it yourself.

Why is Hetzner asking me to verify my account?

Hetzner runs fraud checks on new registrations and orders, and may ask you to verify before it processes an order. You can send a copy of a government ID or make a prepayment with your own credit card. Questions about verification go to cda-review@hetzner.com.

Can I get the verification prepayment back?

Unused credit added during verification is refunded only when you close the account and no invoices are open. Send an authorized support request, and Hetzner refunds the credit to the original payment method.

When does Hetzner charge my card?

Hetzner bills after you use a product. Each monthly invoice covers the previous month, and the card is charged a few days after the invoice is issued. Small amounts roll over until they pass the 10 dollar or 10 euro minimum, or three months go by.

Does Hetzner accept crypto?

No. Hetzner does not accept cryptocurrencies. It also refuses wallets such as Apple Pay, even when they are linked to a credit card.
