Fees swallow small balances

Customers describe an annual fee taking a small balance and transfer costs that add up.

They Block Withdrawals Below $50, Then Take the Balance

“I had about $22 in my Payoneer account, which I couldn’t withdraw because the minimum is $50. … Later, they took the entire $22 as an annual fee, without notifying me by email.”

Trustpilot review, 10 August 2026

Payoneer fees are aggressive for transfers.

“The combination of the transfer fees have driven up the cost over 9%. This is a healthy chunk of cash if you're living in a tight economy.”

Payoneer FAQ

Is Payoneer safe?

Yes. Payoneer was founded in 2005 and its parent is listed on Nasdaq. Payoneer Inc. is registered with FinCEN as a money services business and licensed in US states, and its European and UK companies are authorised e-money institutions. In June 2026 it agreed to be acquired by Nuvei. Trustpilot shows no score for Payoneer: its profile says the rating is unavailable because of a breach of Trustpilot's guidelines, and that a number of fake reviews were removed.

Is Payoneer a bank?

No. Payoneer is a licensed payments company. It says a receiving account has some of the functions of banking but is not a bank account: it can receive payments but can't be charged, and it only accepts payments from business accounts.

What is the Payoneer card?

The Payoneer Commercial Mastercard: a card that spends your Payoneer balance, in stores, online and at ATMs. Depending on your eligibility Payoneer offers the Corporate Purchasing Mastercard, issued by First Century Bank, N.A. and provided by Payoneer Inc., or the Payoneer Business Premium Debit Mastercard, issued by Payoneer Europe Limited in Ireland. Cards come per currency, as physical or virtual cards.

How do I get a Payoneer card?

Payoneer lets you order a card once your account has received at least $100 in payments in the past six months, a threshold it says varies by country. It adds that the receipts must not come from an e-wallet, and that cards aren't available in every country. Once eligible you order the card from your account; a virtual card is ready at once and a physical card is delivered free by standard post.

Does Payoneer have a virtual card?

Yes. Virtual cards are issued instantly, and you can hold up to 50 without approval or 600 with it, at no charge per card. After your first card in a currency, every further card in that currency is virtual and shares its balance.

How much does the Payoneer card cost?

$29.95 a year for the card, however many cards you hold, and a $29.95 annual account fee in any 12 months when you receive less than $6,000. Purchases are free where the merchant is in the card's country of issue, up to 1.8% elsewhere, and up to 3.5% when the purchase needs converting. An ATM withdrawal costs $3.15 plus up to 1.8%.

Does Payoneer charge an annual fee?

Two can apply. The card costs $29.95 a year, and the account costs another $29.95 in any 12 months when you receive less than $6,000; its pricing page says that one isn't charged in the first year on a paid annual plan.

Can I add money to my Payoneer card myself?

Not in the usual sense. A Payoneer card spends the balance you have been paid into: earnings from marketplaces and payments from business clients. Payoneer moves the balance onto the card automatically every hour, and says you can add funds from a bank account in your own name through a receiving account if you are eligible.

Does Payoneer work with Apple Pay and Google Pay?

Partly. Its help centre says every Payoneer card works with Google Wallet, but only Payoneer cards whose number starts 529366 can be added to Apple Wallet.

Does the Payoneer card have cashback?

Only on its Global Cashback Reward Card Plan, which Payoneer says is offered by a sales contact or as part of a promotion, carries a periodic fee and may not be available in your country. It gives no cashback rate.

Who issues the Payoneer card?

It depends on the card you are offered: First Century Bank, N.A. issues the Corporate Purchasing Mastercard, and Payoneer Europe Limited, an e-money institution authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland, issues the Payoneer Business Premium Debit Mastercard.

Why does Payoneer have no Trustpilot score?

Trustpilot shows no score for Payoneer: its profile says the rating is unavailable because of a breach of Trustpilot's guidelines, and that a number of fake reviews were removed. The profile still lists 63,450 reviews, 2,236 of them from the past 12 months.

How do I contact Payoneer support?

By phone, on numbers it lists for the US, the UK and other countries, or by live chat once you have signed in. Its help pages also have an AI search assistant, and its complaints page gives an email address for complaints.
