What it is
A virtual Visa credit card.
US-issued. Real credit BIN, issued through Visa’s network by Third National. No consumer bank in the middle. No credit pull. No impact on your score. Available globally, not just to US residents.
Why credit beats debit and prepaid.
Merchants accept credit cards at higher rates than debit or prepaid because credit transactions carry stronger guarantees. Subscription services, hotels, car rentals, and ad platforms routinely block prepaid cards. Halocard runs on a credit BIN, so it gets through.
Virtual first, with contactless support.
Every Halocard is a virtual card created instantly in the app. Add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and tap to pay in person, anywhere contactless is accepted. No physical card needed.
What you can do with it
175 million merchants worldwide.
If Visa is accepted, Halocard works. Online stores, subscriptions, in-person retail, app stores, AI and cloud platforms, hotels, car rentals, fuel stations. The full Visa acceptance network is yours.
Recurring payments and pre-authorisations work.
Subscriptions, memberships, SaaS, streaming. Set a card and let merchants bill it on schedule. Hotels, car rentals, and fuel stations place temporary holds before charging. Prepaid cards usually fail both. Halocard’s credit BIN clears them cleanly.
3D Secure for high-security checkout.
When a merchant asks for 3D Secure verification, Halocard sends a one-time code to confirm the transaction. Added protection on high-value purchases. Standard prepaid cards don’t support this.
What you control
Set a spending limit on every card.
Per-transaction, daily, monthly, or total caps. Hit the limit and the merchant sees a decline. Your other cards keep working. The limit is yours, not theirs.
Custom name and billing address per card.
Set the cardholder name and billing address on every card you create. Use your real details where you need to. Use something else where you don’t. Each merchant gets exactly what you give them.
Lock, replace, or kill instantly.
Suspect a charge? Lock the card in one tap. Card compromised? Delete it and spin up a new one in seconds. The new card draws from the same balance. The old one stops working immediately.
How you fund it
Fund it however you want.
USDC and USDT stablecoins (free, credit within minutes). Debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay (instant, fees apply). ACH transfer through your own US bank account, coming Q2 2026 (no fees, no Plaid). We chose the widest possible set of options so anyone, anywhere, can load their account.
One shared wallet across every card.
All your Halocards draw from a single account balance. Move money in once, spend it across as many cards as you want. No per-card top-ups, no juggling balances.
ACH and your own US bank account, coming Q2 2026.
Every Halocard account will get a functional US bank account. Fund via ACH transfer, no fees, no Plaid. We chose to build this instead of using third-party bank linking, which most international users can’t access anyway.
Where it won't work
Some merchant categories are restricted.
Adult, gambling, cryptocurrency exchanges, and other high-risk MCCs are restricted on credit BINs by Visa, not by us. These categories aren’t supported, and we’re transparent about that upfront.
Some countries are off-limits.
Card networks place restrictions on where cards can be issued. Russia and North Korea carry sanction risk. India and China have an unfavourable regulatory environment they choose not to participate in. The complete list is in our support docs.
No card can override merchant or regional restrictions.
If a service isn’t available in your country, no card can change that. If you’re trying to use a service outside its terms, no card will let you through. Halocard works almost anywhere Visa is accepted, but the rules merchants set, including geo-blocks, account verification, and T&Cs, are theirs to enforce. There’s no silver bullet card or BIN that gets around them.
What it costs
$12 a month. 12 cards.
Flat subscription. No free tier (paid users are customers, free users are inventory). No per-transaction fees. No card-creation fees. No setup fees. Cancel any time, your cards lock when the subscription ends.
Fees that exist, and why.
- Non-USD purchases: 1.5% + $0.30 (Visa’s foreign exchange fee, passed through).
- ATM withdrawal via Apple/Google Pay: 1.5% + $1.00.
- ATM balance check or decline: $1.00.
- Disputed transaction: $35.
All disclosed upfront.
No hidden fees.
Many providers charge hidden transaction fees, authorisation fees, decline fees, and cross-border fees. None of these apply with Halocard. What you see in the previous screen is what you pay.
How to get one
Identity check, about five minutes.
We collect six things: name, address, date of birth, expected spend, government ID or SSN, and a selfie. Sumsub verifies it. Most users are approved immediately.
Subscribe and load funds.
Pick the plan, pay the first month, load your account with stablecoin, card, or (soon) ACH. Minimum deposit is $100. You can start spending within minutes of loading.
Create your first card and pay.
Tap to create. Set a name, billing address, and spending limit. Add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet if you want contactless. Paste the card number into any merchant that takes Visa. That’s it.
